Caputo's Corner will be travelling to exotic Easton today to watch the beginning of the merciful end of the Redskins season today with Dustin (aka the Reporter). The end of the Redskins season is always kind of bittersweet, especially this year since I don't even have fantasy to keep me occupied (the fantasy season ended for non-playoff teams last week). The one thing that will turn me off faster is a team that is playing out the string, playing several games that at the end of the day will definitely not translate into a playoff berth. The season is effectively over, but it isn't. All that does is prolong the offseason, and the draft is still 4 months away.
On the other hand, it is the Holiday season. Christmas is one week from today and New Years is 2 weeks away. Hockey season is in full swing. At least we got the Caps...oh wait they stink too. College basketball is getting it in high gear...oh wait Maryland hoops stink as well.
OK, so my sports options are somewhat limited. Therefore, I have been trying to entertain myself by watching (gasp!) TV!!! Here is what I have been watching lately, with thanks to Jena for some of the tips.
Storage Wars (A&E Network)-I never knew how entertaining buying abandoned storage units at auction could be. Man, these guys are intense. It's also amazing to see what is in these storage units that are left behind, some really valuable stuff. Now I know that the only units that make the show are the really expensive ones and the vast majority of these things are garbage. It's still pretty fun to watch. There are also several similar shows: Auction Hunters on Spike, Storage Hunters on TruTV, and Storage Wars-Texas on A&E. Yeah, I watched that last one and was not too thrilled with it. The other two are pretty decent.
Restaurant: Impossible (Food Network)-How many of you guys remember Gordon Ramsay's "Kitchen Nightmares?" This is the same idea, only with not as much censored language. The host is Robert Irvine, who lists on his resumé that he was a chef for the Queen of England. He is trying to do the same thing to these hole-in-the-wall joints that Ramsay did to his, except Irvine is doing it on a budget and Ramsay did not.
Alright, enough about my TV watching habits. Enjoy your football Sunday.
