The Madness Begins...

Happy Saint Patrick's Day from Caputo's Corner!  Today is the one day out of the year we all say "Erin Go Braugh" without knowing exactly what it means (it means Ireland forever for those of you keeping score at home).  When you celebrate tonight, please do so responsibly wherever you might be heading.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback on my latest geology post about the Japan earthquake.  I'm glad to see that you all learned something from Caputo's Corner.  It's what keeps me in business :-).

NCAA Tournament 2011 is officially underway (the play in games don't count in my opinion).  FBL 2011 welcomes 27 daring souls willing to put it all out on the line and get a little humiliated in the process.  Well, humiliated we are as we already have our first upset of the tournament as Morehead State KO's Louisville by a count of 62-61.  Morehead advances to take on the winner of Richmond and Vanderbilt later and there will be no perfect bracket in FBL 2011.  Thanks to everyone willing to take the plunge.

In other news, a big congratulations goes out to the official sister of Caputo's Corner (that would be Laura) who was officially "matched" today for her residency upon her graduation from medical school later this Spring.  Ladies and gentlemen, Laura will be playing doctor at....

DUKE!!!!!

Yes, Terps nation, pigs have flown.  Look on the bright side, at least THEY'LL be paying HER.

Congratulations also to all of the other soon-to-be-doctors from the University of Maryland Baltimore Class of 2011.

  1. Speak for yourself on the Erin Go Braugh! I say no such thing this year or any other!

Congrats to your sis. Duke is a very fine institution.

  3. My Facebook status was "Kiss me, I'm Irish? Screw you, I'm English." So there's that.

Also, does the official inspiration of Caputo's Corner get an official royalty check for officially taking his "official" thing (if you don't know by now to what I refer, he is "tastefully named")?

    And finally, grats to Laura.

  4. Tastefully named indeed...

I'm sure this tastefully named individual to whom you refer would be tastefully flattered by my constant references.

When I monetize the blog and start making bank off of it, the checks will be in the mail :-).
