Holy Redeemer 8-St. J's 2
A 3-run homer from Steve Hall opened the floodgates in the bottom of the 4th inning to propel the Redeemers onto a 6-run win. According to team captain Dustin Holt, this was the first win for Redeemer over St. J's since July 2009!
Holy Redeemer 8-St. J's 9
What was looking for a while like a sure-fire sweep over the league champions from 2009 disintigrated into a 5-run bottom of the 7th for J's. A 3-run homer tied it, and Redeemer could not get the final 2 outs to send it into extras. A disappointing finish, but all in all, we can't complain about a split over these guys. Here's how I did:
1-3 (single, 2 pop outs)
Included in that 1-3 was a bomb I hit over the left fielder's head that banged against the wall...but it was 2 feet foul :-(. I proceeded to pop up the very next pitch.
Redeemer stands at 3-1 (just like St. J's) after 2 weeks.
