The Blaine Gabbert Watch is on...

Blaine Gabbert is most likely going to be the next quarterback on the board.  There was speculation he might have gone to Cincinnati at #4, but that would have been essentially telling Carson Palmer he's finished.  Ryan Fitzpatrick is not the answer either (despite the Harvard education...).  Instead of quarterback, the Bengals decided to go with speed and wide receiver AJ Green from Georgia.  Ochocinco and TO are useless.  If Ocho wants to play soccer, fine.  TO is a headcase, and there's not much else there the Bengals to use.  By picking AJ Green, the Bengals are trying to build the talent base around Palmer, and not rely on questionable has-beens.

Arizona has selected Patrick Petersen, cornerback from LSU, with the #5 pick.  Outstanding ball skills, both in pass coverage and in the return game.  He even covered AJ Green once...  Gabbert continues to wait in the Green Room.  Who needs a QB?  Will he fall to the Skins at 10?

Heyo! We've just had a trade.  Cleveland has just traded the #6 pick to Atlanta.  The details are not out yet, but we know that it was just a swap of picks.  So let's see what Rich McKay, Arthur Blank, and Mike Smith have up their sleeves... Schefter believes that they are after Julio Jones, WR from Alabama, and he seems pretty confident.  Apparently, Jones is the last WR left in the Green Room.  Who knew?

  1. Atlanta must REALLY like Julio Jones. They gave Cleveland a total of 5 picks, including 2 first rounders (1 this year and 1 next). I always wonder when teams make trades like this. It's the Ricky Williams problem. How much is too much? For New Orleans, it was too much. And the Redskins said thank you!

  2. Julio is a beast. TO-type body, but a good character guy - you know Saban turns out hard-working, humble mofos. One of Kiper/McShay's mocks had Ingram going to the Pats, and I almost punched my monitor. That'd be a great pick for a cheater of a franchise.
