Did VCU Steal a Page from the Maryland Riot Playbook?

Check this out...VCU students and fans are so proud of their team losing in the Final Four to Butler, that they decided to pull a celebration that would make Maryland's Fraternity Row proud.  Usually, when Maryland students riot, it's because of a Duke game (win or lose).  What's funny about this is that VCU lost, then they peacefully left the arena where they watched the game.  Then, all of a sudden, fireworks blast into the sky and trashcans were being lit ablaze.  Students start to fire toilet paper and the riot police respond with teargas.  Reporters dumb enough to get close to the inferno asked them what they thought of VCU's season, and all the answers were something along the lines of "GREAT JOB VCU!"

Somewhere, a bike shop owner in College Park is smirking...

Here are links to some videos of raw footage.  I especially like the title of the second clip: "Burning Things on Broad Street after VCU Loses."  Is this Richmond or Philadelphia?  You be the judge.

  1. I think it's more Morgantown than College Park myself.
