It's a week late, but it's time to announce our winner to FBL 2011...and I am happy to report that it is NOT ME!!!
For those of you who thought the fix was in, are you happy now? :-)
Anyway, our 2011 winner is...with a final score of 113 points...and the ONLY player to correctly predict the National Champion UConn Huskies
JOHN PAUL CHASE
John Paul took a bold approach in not only his championship game pick, but also his team name. "Rhymes with winning" is a name that only Charlie Sheen would be proud of. John Paul must have had tiger blood running through his veins in making picks of 3 Big East teams in the Final Four. His hopes took a turn for the worst when Pittsburgh lost in the 2nd round and Syracuse went down in the Sweet 16. His fourth semifinalist, Kansas, became the lastest victims of the juggernaut that is the Colonial Athletic Association, losing to VCU in the Elite 8. It came down to the semifinal game between UConn and Kentucky. If Kentucky beat UConn, the fix was in as Nick would have went wire to wire. In the end, however, the Huskies were able to complete a remarkable run of 11 tournament wins in the month of March to win both the Big East tournament (winning 5 games in 5 days) and the NCAA Tournament. This is John Paul's first victory in FBL. John Paul also won the $10 buy in side pool.
Donnie, you owe him $10. Sorry :-).
